The compensatory patterns our nervous systems skillfully craft to endure ongoing stress become dysfunctional as our environments and experiences change.
Those compensatory patterns can create confusing, contradictory, and sometimes debilitating symptoms which are hard to explain by medical standards.
Somatic Experiencing is a neurophysiological approach to post traumatic stress syndromes which offers a way to re-wire the nervous system toward coherence in an incremental and gentle way without the re-traumatization of revisiting the stories or having cathartic releases.
Dr Rachel has been in the practice of Physical Therapy for 30+ years with 25+ years devoted to complementary practices including Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Neurovascular Integration Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Meditation, and Yoga.
